He has donated a piece of his land, measuring approximately 12,300 square meters, to the Muhammadiyah organization in Gayo Lues.
The land is located in the Blang Tenggulun area, adjacent to the site of a former matchstick factory. With unwavering commitment, H. Kamaluddin handed over this valuable asset to be used for the greater good of the community.
“I dedicate this as a form of “sadaqah jariyah” (ongoing charity). As for how it will be used-whether for a university, orphanage, or other social institutions=I entrust that fully to Muhammadiyah. What matters most is that it brings lasting benefit and goodness to society,” he told “Insetgalusnews” with heartfelt sincerity on Thursday (July 10, 2025).

As a retired civil servant who spent decades in public service, Kamaluddin explained that his decision was not merely personal=it was a calling of conscience. In the twilight of his life, he hoped to leave behind more than just memories; he wanted to leave a tangible legacy for the advancement of Gayo Lues. To him, investing in human capital is the most meaningful legacy one can offer future generations.
“I’ve long known Muhammadiyah and deeply trust the organization. If used wisely, this land can become a field of never-ending good deeds,” he said, his eyes welling with tears.
H Kamaluddin’s decision stands as more than just a gesture of generosity, it is a beacon of hope for the community. It proves that values such as humanity, sincerity, and social responsibility are still alive and thriving.
While many are preoccupied with amassing wealth, H Kamaluddin chose to enrich his soul. While others fear losing what they own, he gave his away for a greater purpose.
